Your settings
Your preferences — reciter, translation and tafsir edition, prayer
calculation method, language, background, and bookmarked verses — are
stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.local.
They never leave your device unless you export them yourself from
Settings.
Location
Location is used for one thing: calculating prayer times. It is only involved if you turn prayer times on.
Your coordinates come either from your browser's location service — which asks your permission first — or from a city you type in. They are sent to nominatim.openstreetmap.org purely to turn coordinates into a place name and back. The result is cached on your device. We never receive it, because we run no server.
Content fetched as you read
The Qur'anic text, adhkar, fonts and adhan audio are bundled inside the extension, so the core works offline. Optional content is fetched on demand from these services, and cached locally afterwards:

As with loading any web page, these requests reveal your IP address to those services, which handle it under their own privacy policies. We send them nothing that identifies you.

The optional two are requested only at the moment you enable them, and never otherwise.
No remote code
The extension runs only the code shipped in its package. Its content security policy restricts scripts to the extension itself, and network access to the five services listed above.
Children
Just Ayah is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date above is updated and the new version appears here before the change reaches a released version.
